Videotape Available: The Raising of the Herrick Barn

The Newark Valley Historical Society is pleased to announce the release of "The Raising of the Herrick Barn". The tape was made during the Spring Festival on June 12-13, 1999, at the Bemet-Billings Farmstead in Newark Valley, New York. During these two days, the frame of an English threshing barn built in the period 1825-1830 was brought back to life. This videotape provides good documentation of a traditional barn raising. Cost of the tape is $25 + $5 for shipping and handling ($5 deduction for NVHS members). For information or to purchase the tape, please call the Newark Valley Historical Society at 607/642-9516.
